Why Kinesiology Is Important to College Students

As you go up the education ladder, you may experience more challenges. College can also be fun, but most often than not, it is a difficult place to be. In the US, statistics show that 30% of students drop out after their first year in college while a whopping 56% drop out after six years of being in college, studying a four-year major. While the statistics may not be the same in other countries, it can mean that college life can be very stressful.

But what is kinesiology, and how can it help college students?

In its simplest meaning, kinesiology is the study of movement. It is derived from the Greek words kinesis and logos, which mean movement and teaching. But to explain further, kinesiology is the study of body movements to provide information about the well-being of other organs and systems of the body. It primarily uses muscle testing techniques and traditional Chinese medicine to gain insight into any imbalance in the energy system of a person. Any imbalance in the energy system can eventually be reflected in the body, notably the muscles.

By promoting self-healing, kinesiology can restore balance within a person. Among students, kinesiology has the following benefits.
